I just passed the eLearnSecurity Junior Pentester (eJPT). The exam itself was so much fun it did not feel like an exam . I completed the accompanying free course from INE the Penetration Testing Student (PTS) last week and then bought my voucher from the eJPT , which was received this week . You are given 72 hours to complete the exam , plenty of time . I decided I would take the exam over a Thursday, Friday and Saturday .Everything you need is the PTS, there is a section on programming , you can skip it as it doesn’t come up in the exam but if you never done programming before I recommend you at least try it
On Thursday I woke up at 5.30 and started the test at 6.00am, submitted the test at 4.33pm after checking my answers twice. I would have had it completed sooner, but went off on a bit of a tangent. I got two questions wrong, one I just could find the answer ,and other I changed my mind at the last minute, either way I was not worried if I did fail I had one retake.
If you are looking for a more practical alternative to something like the CompTIA Pentest+ I highly recommend it and it is a great first rung on the ladder towards the OSCP and a career in Cyber Security.
